Sudden Change

Sudden change can be good and bad, depends on what side you are

The shore can appear so close for one, but for another so far

Sudden change that is tough wreaks havoc, it feels prolonged and consistent

It hits you and makes you groundless in an instant

From one minute to another, nothing feels the same

One moment leads to another and wow, all feels lame

Triggers for change are constant from all directions and in all we do

Events, opportunities, life changes are natural and keep coming through

Friends move away, relations hit a stop sign

Teammates seek new paths, dear ones become divine

It always hits hard like a suckered punch to our being

Things feel empty and rudderless, we feel like fleeing

With age and experience comes wisdom

From habitual patterns we seek freedom

Coming Coming Going Going is everywhere

Impermanence is the ultimate reality that we all share

To friends that move away, we realize distance is in the mind

To relations that hit a stop sign, we pivot and give ourselves time to find

To teammates that seek new paths, we wish them well and them we emulate

To dear ones who become divine, we let go and free them of our emotional freight

The only truth we know is that change is certain

The only truth we know is that the timing of change is uncertain

Sudden change is sudden, we know and face
